Works Mk1
Each MST Cars Special Edition Mk1 is bespoke and built to order here in North Wales, UK. The build is based on the original works cars, featuring steel bubble arched shell, 6 linked rear axle and turreted rear coilovers with all the strengthening that a proper rally car requires, including a weld in roll cage. The classic BDG engine is fueled by Jenvey throttle bodies and managed by the latest Life Racing ECU. Cars can be built for fast road & touring with fully trimmed interior or can be supplied as an FIA spec rally car for competition use.
For historic rally spec cars we use homologated the 5-speed ZF direct top gearbox. Heavy duty propshaft.
The Atlas axle as used on the original works cars are tried and tested for reliability. Each axle is hand built using motorsport quality parts including a Gripper LSD, low ratio CWP, twin taper bearing alloy hubs and AP Racing brakes.
The Group-4 setup includes the original Bilstein dampers combined with modern WRC type suspension assembly which is fully adjustable for height, camber, castor and track. Alloy wheel hubs & Group-4 studs. Rear leaf springs are replaced with Bilstein coilovers.
As used on the works escorts, we use the AP Racing Forest front brake calipers with 266x21mm discs for use with 13” wheels. Rear brakes are AP Racing 2 pot calipers with an electric parking brake feature. Fully adjustable bias pedalbox & hydraulic handbrake.
Rally cars will feature a stripped out lightweight interior with FIA approved race seats and 6 point harnesses. Complete with latest safety features including electrical plumbed in extinguishers, cut off switches, footrests, rally steering wheel etc.
Our road spec cars have some luxuries thrown in. Keeping the original rally car feel with a fully hand trimmed interior using the best quality leathers and Alcantara with a special edition Rothmans branding. Seats can be trimmed race seats or recliners. Full wool carpets with Dynamat NVH. Alcantara headliner.
Gold Minilites is the obvious wheel of choice, as used on the Rothmans cars. We only use Genuine Minilite wheels, Group-4 fitting, made in England. Front wheels are 8×13 and rear 9×13. For rally use we have a wide range of wheel and tyre options available.
All the must have rally features are included including the 2-up, 2-down, PIAA Rally spotlamps, Sump guard, mudflaps, fire extinguishers, Spare wheel with jack & wheel brace etc.
